DiskCatalog should help you to get an overview about your CD's, ZIP's and similar media.
Unlike other similar programs, DiskCatalog has special functions to handle MP3's and Images.
Usage
Getting started ...
After starting DiskCatalog, you should see this:
First you should look at the Settings. You can find them at Edit / Settings or by pressing
This menu should appear :
- Reload last database means, that the last database, you saved were loaded at startup
- Create thumbnails means, that from every image, DiskCatalog found, a thumbnail (100 x 100) is being created. This needs much time, so you should be warned ;-)
- Read MP3-Tag's means, that the program try to read the MP3 Tag ...
- Search inside ZIP-Files .. you should guess what it mean *g*
- The License-Key will remove the limitation
- You can select between German and English Language
At page 2 you can select the Image-Size and the Compression-Quality
If you are happy with the settings, simply press ok.
The first Datbase
Just click at
or File / New

Either you type the path directly into the textfield, or you use the fileselection dialog by clicking at Select directory . If you are finish, simple click at the Ok-Button.
Now you should type a name for this data, e.g. the label of the CD.
That's all. Now DiskCatalog creates an Index of all Files including Subdirectories...

allows you to change the settings

- "Open" loads a Database
- "Import" imports a Database
- "Save" saves a Database
- "Update" updates the Database
- "Quit" exit the program
- Edit
- "Edit Comment" change the comment of the selected entrie
- "Remove Entry" removes the selected entry
- "Settings" allows you to change the settings
- Extra
- "Search" search the Database
- "Find dupes" search the Database for duplicate Files
- "Export as Text" exports the Database as a plain Textfile
- "Export as HTML"
- "Standard" Creates a HTML-File with all Files in Database, saving the Thumbnails.
- "Table of MP3" Creates a HTML-File with all MP3 Tag's sorted by the Artistname and Albumname.
